1. Services provided
FX Detailing LTD specialises in luxury car detailing, bodykit installation, and vehicle collection and delivery.
We may also source OEM, aftermarket, or specialist automotive parts on behalf of customers where requested. All parts ordered specifically for a customer are subject to the terms outlined in this agreement.
2. Bookings and deposits
All bookings are subject to our Booking, Cancellation & Refund Policy.
A minimum 25% deposit is required to secure any booking. We reserve the right to require a higher deposit for high-value, specialist, custom-order, or extended-duration projects.
Your booking is not confirmed until the required deposit has been received.
3. Vehicle inspection and collection procedure
A vehicle inspection is compulsory upon collection.
On completion of the agreed work, the customer must inspect the vehicle with a member of the FX Detailing team before taking possession of the vehicle.
Any concerns regarding workmanship must be raised during this inspection or within 48 hours of vehicle collection.
Failure to notify us within this period may affect our ability to assess and rectify any alleged workmanship issues.
4. Workmanship guarantee
FX Detailing LTD is committed to delivering all services to the highest professional standard.
If a workmanship issue relating to a service carried out directly by FX Detailing is identified within 48 hours of collection, we will inspect the vehicle and, where appropriate, rectify the issue by re-performing the relevant service at no additional charge.
Our obligation is to rectify unsatisfactory workmanship, not to provide a refund for services already completed.
We reserve the right to inspect the vehicle before agreeing to any rectification work.
5. Vehicle condition and pre-existing damage
Vehicle detailing and bodykit installation cannot permanently eliminate every defect or pre-existing issue.
FX Detailing is not responsible for defects, damage, or deterioration that existed before the vehicle was presented to us, including but not limited to:
-
deep scratches;
-
stone chips;
-
paint defects;
-
oxidation;
-
corrosion;
-
previous accident damage;
-
poor-quality repairs or repainting;
-
thin paint;
-
worn leather or interior trim;
-
mechanical or electrical faults.
Where significant pre-existing damage is identified, we will notify the customer before proceeding whenever reasonably possible.
For bodykit installations, FX Detailing reserves the right to suspend or stop work if undisclosed damage, previous poor repairs, structural issues, or fitment problems are discovered that may affect the quality or safety of the installation.
6. Bodykit approvals and supplied parts
The customer is responsible for approving the bodykit components, styling, and specification before installation begins.
Aftermarket bodykits and components may require adjustment, modification, preparation, painting, or specialist fitting techniques to achieve the best possible result.
Minor variations in panel gaps, carbon weave, finish, or fitment may occur with aftermarket products and do not necessarily constitute defective installation.
Painting, preparation, and finishing of bodykit components may be carried out by specialist partner companies.
Where FX Detailing orders parts on behalf of a customer, full payment for special-order parts is required before the order is placed.
Once a special-order part has been ordered or the supplier has begun processing the order, it cannot be cancelled or refunded.
7. Specialist partner services
Certain specialist automotive services may be carried out by carefully selected independent specialist partner companies.
These services may include, but are not limited to:
-
paint protection film (PPF);
-
paintwork;
-
bodyshop repairs;
-
wheel refurbishment;
-
paintless dent removal (PDR);
-
alloy repair;
-
interior repairs; and
-
other specialist automotive services.
FX Detailing is responsible for the workmanship and services carried out directly by FX Detailing.
Each specialist partner company is independently responsible for the workmanship, materials, warranties, guarantees, delays, and outcomes of the services they perform.
Where we arrange or coordinate a specialist partner service on your behalf, we will deal directly with the specialist partner and make reasonable efforts to secure inspection, rectification, or resolution of any issue relating to their work.
However, our responsibility ends once we have exercised reasonable care in selecting the specialist provider, coordinating the work, and facilitating communication between the customer and the provider.
If a specialist partner refuses to rectify their own work, denies liability, or otherwise fails to resolve the matter despite our reasonable efforts, the customer will be required to pursue the matter directly with the specialist partner responsible for that work.
FX Detailing does not provide a separate warranty or guarantee for work carried out by independent specialist partner companies unless expressly confirmed in writing.
8. Ceramic coating performance guarantee
FX Detailing provides a 5-year ceramic coating performance guarantee for the paintwork coating service only.
This guarantee applies solely to the painted exterior surfaces of the vehicle and does not apply to glass, wheels, trim, interior surfaces, or any other coated components unless expressly stated in writing.
The performance guarantee covers the coating’s ability to:
-
maintain enhanced gloss and depth of finish;
-
provide UV protection to help prevent the paintwork from becoming dull through oxidation; and
-
provide increased scratch resistance compared with unprotected paintwork.
This guarantee is subject to the coating being correctly maintained and the vehicle being cared for in accordance with the aftercare guidance provided by FX Detailing.
Coating failure
For the purposes of this guarantee, coating failure means that the protected paintwork has experienced a measurable loss of gloss, depth, or clarity resulting from the failure of the ceramic coating itself, despite the coating having been correctly maintained in accordance with the aftercare guidance provided by FX Detailing.
A reduction in water beading or sheeting alone does not constitute coating failure.
If FX Detailing determines that the ceramic coating has failed within the 5-year guarantee period, we will rectify the affected paintwork by carrying out the necessary preparation work and reapply the ceramic coating.
Where required, FX Detailing will provide up to £600 worth of machine polishing and paint preparation work on the affected vehicle to restore the paintwork before reapplication of the coating.
Annual inspection requirement
To maintain the validity of this performance guarantee, the vehicle must be presented to FX Detailing for one inspection every 12 months from the date of the original ceramic coating application.
Failure to attend an annual inspection may invalidate the performance guarantee.
Hydrophobic performance
Water repellency (hydrophobic behaviour) is a separate performance characteristic and is not guaranteed for the full 5-year period.
In normal use, hydrophobic performance typically begins to reduce after approximately 18–24 months, although some vehicles maintained regularly by FX Detailing have continued to demonstrate strong hydrophobic performance for more than 3 years.
Once hydrophobic performance begins to diminish, it can be refreshed using Gtechniq Ceramic Sealant, which is typically recommended every 6 months.
This maintenance can be carried out either by FX Detailing or by the vehicle owner.
9. Environmental contamination and owner maintenance
Ceramic coatings provide a protective barrier that significantly reduces the likelihood of contamination penetrating the paintwork.
However, they cannot prevent damage indefinitely from environmental contaminants such as:
-
water spots;
-
bird droppings;
-
tree sap;
-
insect remains;
-
industrial fallout;
-
mineral deposits; and
-
other corrosive substances.
These contaminants should be removed promptly in accordance with the aftercare guidance provided by FX Detailing.
The ongoing maintenance of the vehicle remains the responsibility of the owner.
Damage caused by prolonged exposure to environmental contaminants, improper washing techniques, automatic car washes, harsh chemicals, neglect, or failure to follow the recommended aftercare procedures is not covered by the ceramic coating performance guarantee.
10. Vehicle movement and testing
By leaving a vehicle with FX Detailing, the customer authorises our staff to:
-
move the vehicle within our premises;
-
start and operate the vehicle as reasonably necessary;
-
conduct short road tests where required to verify installation quality, fitment, functionality, or safety; and
-
transport the vehicle for collection, delivery, or specialist partner services.
We will exercise reasonable care when moving, testing, or transporting vehicles.
11. Delays outside our control
Estimated completion dates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed.
FX Detailing shall not be liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
-
parts shortages;
-
supplier or manufacturer delays;
-
paint curing times;
-
specialist partner delays;
-
weather conditions affecting certain applications;
-
equipment failure;
-
illness;
-
transport delays; or
-
other unforeseen operational circumstances.
Where a significant delay occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to keep the customer informed.
12. Customer responsibilities
The customer is responsible for:
-
removing valuables from the vehicle before it is left with FX Detailing;
-
disclosing previous repairs, repainting, ceramic coatings, wraps, PPF, or other modifications that may affect the work;
-
ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy where appropriate; and
-
following the aftercare guidance provided by FX Detailing.
FX Detailing is not responsible for loss or damage to valuables left inside the vehicle.
13. Storage charges
Vehicles should be collected promptly once the customer has been notified that the work is complete.
A 5-day grace period applies from the date of completion notification.
After this period, storage charges will apply at the following rates:
-
£50 per week
-
£200 per month
Storage charges must be paid before the vehicle is released.
14. Photography and marketing
Unless the customer expressly requests otherwise in writing before work begins, FX Detailing may photograph and film the vehicle before, during, and after the work for:
-
marketing;
-
social media;
-
website content;
-
portfolio use; and
-
promotional materials.
Vehicle registration numbers may be removed or obscured at our discretion.
15. Limitation of liability
FX Detailing’s liability is limited to the rectification of our own workmanship and, where applicable, the value of the service provided by FX Detailing.
We shall not be liable for:
-
indirect or consequential losses;
-
loss of use of the vehicle;
-
loss of earnings;
-
travel or accommodation costs;
-
depreciation in vehicle value;
-
pre-existing defects or damage;
-
manufacturer defects;
-
defects in third-party parts;
-
specialist partner workmanship;
-
environmental damage occurring after collection; or
-
damage resulting from failure to follow our aftercare guidance.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.
16. Disputes and governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute arising in connection with the services provided by FX Detailing shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We encourage customers to contact us directly in the first instance so that any concerns can be addressed professionally and efficiently.
